Theodore Roosevelt Dam
If you head east from Apache Junction, AZ on US 60 and then turn left on SR 88 before Globe, AZ you will find yourself on the Apache Trail. This is a scenic day trip that takes you past the Roosevelt Dam.

An Overlook Along SR 88 in AZ
There are a few turnouts along SR 88 with interpretive signs that explain the geology of the area. We just enjoyed the peace and quiet.

A Long Dirt Road
If you look near the middle of this picture you'll see a light tan line winding through. That's SR 88 seen from one of the pull over areas. The road gets rough and very narrow in places.

Apache Lake
Driving through the desert and canyons of SR 88 what you don't expect to see are a series of small, beautiful blue-green lakes. This is Apache Lake.
